Bundoran Star is a purpose-built Sea Angling Charter Boat powered by a 385 HP Caterpillar engine with a cruising speed of 15Kts. Built and surveyed to the latest Merchant Shipping (Passenger Boat 2002) Regulations and fully licensed for 12 Passengers and 2 crew.
Bundoran Star is a Lochin 333.
Developed from the original Robert Tucker Hull shape the Lochin 333 combines a deep and sharp forefoot with pronounced bow flare, reverse chine's and a substantial keel. These features provide excellent stability and roll resistance appreciated by leisure operators worldwide. Lochin 333 Technical Data: LOA 10.05 Meters 33ft, Beam 3.75 meter 12.3ft, Draft 1.2 meters 4ft, Displacement 8 Tons.The Lochin 333 has the enviable record of being adopted by the RNLI as an intermediate fast lifeboat.
Angling:
Deep Sea Fishing Charters are offered for reef, sand, bottom and shark fishing.
There are an abundance of fish species available only 15 minutes out from Bundoran Pier. Some of the species encountered include, Mackerel, Cod, Pollack, Coalfish, Ling, Pouting, Red, and Tub Gurnards, Thornback Ray, Ballan Wrasse, Cuckoo Wrasse, Dogfish and Tope.
Tope fishing (starts in May) and Shark fishing is available from August to October.
We in the Interests of conservation operate a catch and release policy for all species although any anglers wishing to take a few fish home for the table are welcome to do so.
Our full and half day fishing charters are suitable for larger groups of anglers while shorter 2 hour trips are very popular among smaller groups, families and individuals.
Rod and reel hire are available on board.
Whale and Dolphin Watch
We encounter Minke Whale, Common Dolphin, Bottlenose Dolphin, and Harbour Porpoise, Basking Shark, and Sunfish on a regular bases in Donegal Bay. Dolphins in the right conditions the will play around the boat. Common Dolphin and Bottlenose Dolphins are often found in large, socially active groups and are often seen, bow-riding, surfing, lob tailing and breaching. They can leap several metres out of the water. Bottlenose, like many other whales and dolphins, are social animals. They tend to live in family groups called 'schools'. these Schools can contain anything from just two or three dolphins to over fifty.

The Donegal coastline is washed by some of the cleanest and clearest seas in Europe. It is also one of the most varied, with dramatic cliffs such as Slieve League and sandy beaches. The Slieve League ( Grey Mountain) cliffs, situated to the North of Donegal Bay, are the highest and one of the finest marine cliffs in Europe. Sail under Slieve League Bunglass Cliffs the amazing cliff face rises up 600m above the Atlantic waves. Views of Aughrus Point Bundoran, the famous Rougey walk and Fairy Bridges . The landscape surrounding these cliffs makes for an abundance of scenery. There are terrific views of the Sligo and Donegal Mountains Truskmore and Kings Mountain To the South West is the magnificent Benbulben; where beneath its shadow is the grave of the poet and writer W.B Yeats at Drumcliffe churchyard. Innismurray Island: was home up to 100 people until they left for the mainland in the 1950s. Today, Inishmurray Island contains some of the most complete remains of an early Irish monastic settlement as well as the ruins of its nineteenth century houses. The remains of the village are on the south side of the island, as is the Cashel which contains pre Christian and early Christian antiquarian remains such as cursing stones, altars, beehive cells, etc. Undisturbed for many years it has a vast variety of fantastic plants and is home to many birds and wildlife.

Arrival at Bundoran Tourist Information Office. Turn west towards Sligo (West End Bundoran) Londus Supermarket on left. Take a right turn to Pier entrance across the road.

A 25% booking deposit is required in advance to secure a full or half-day charter. Deposits will be refunded in full upon cancellation if sufficient notice (2 weeks) is given or if skipper cancels trip due to bad weather or any other reason.
