 Description:
The Lifford Players present Philadelphia here I Come - Brian Friel's moving masterpiece. As Gar O Donnell prepares to emigrate to America we see the conflict between his brash confident public persona (Gar Public) and the rage and sorrow he feels at the state of his life and the people around him who have contributed to it (Gar Private). Friel's classic explores the complexities behind Gar's gradual detachment from his family and community and his impulse to immerse himself in a new, anonymous country. Sometimes comic sometimes poignant, this play in the hands of this group of local actors is a must see for theatre goers. The cast includes Leo Mc Bride as the father, Ann Shiels as Madge, Michael Kelly as Gar Public Patrick Mc Brearty as Gar Private and John Mc Ginley as the Canon. Adm. €12/€10 Show 8.30pm
